Brain Games!

This week in English 1102, we’ve analyzed the different platforms of learning and how games could be implemented into learning. Personally, I believe that it is a good idea to implement games into our learning. I think that games are a good way to exercise the brain and its fun! If we could play brain games just like the games on lumosity.com, then it’ll be beneficial to us. The games on lumosity.com are made to exercise your brain in a healthy way. There are different types of games in order to exercise different parts of your brain.  Research shows that certain types of mental exercise can enhance the health and function of the brain. Lumosity’s mission in creating their games is to improve brain speed, attention, memory, flexibility, and problem solving. Who wouldn’t want to play fun games while exercising their brain? I know that I would love to! I think Professor Manship should really take into consideration about using brain games in class as a warm-up.

  1. I like lumosity a lot. I love how they let you personalize your own game. It's a little mind bobbling. I like the idea of playing mind games as a warm up in class!

  2. Hi Kevin, I'm in Lacy's other 1102 class. I've never been on Luminosity.com before but I really enjoyed it. I think that it would be really interesting to use this resource in class and see how we could connect it to the ideas of good gaming.

  3. I used to use Lumosity before you had to pay for it and i feel that it is one of the best "game based" programs that helps you learn to do things better ranging from remembering names to answering math problems quicker.
